We offer Learn to Swim lessons for disabled children of all abilities.
Whether your child would prefer to learn as part of a group or on a one-to-one basis, we will provide the necessary stepping stones to help them build their confidence in water, while having fun at the same time.
Your child has the option to swim within the mainstream lessons or with an adult in our Starfish lessons. The Starfish lessons cater for children between the age of 4 and 14 and both programmes follow ASA's Learn to Swim Pathway.
Once your child has completed this programme they can then progress onto Stage 1 of ASA's Learn to Swim Framework if wish to develop their ability in the water.
Queen's Leisure Centre has the following accessible facilities:
- Ramped or level entry into the centre
- Automatic doors
- Hearing induction loop
- Minicom service
- Pool hoists
- Changing rooms and toilets for disabled people
- Disabled person's parking
- Free admission for carers if they are helping a disabled person take part in an activity.

Track your childs progress
Our Home Portal is a FREE online service open to everyone who has purchased swimming lessons. From home or on your mobile you can easily view the swim assessment information held for your child. As lessons are taught teachers continually assess the children, and update their progress within 48 hours. You can then log in and see what your child has achieved, and what swim skills they are working towards.
If your child is enrolled on one of our Learn to Swim programmes, you can log in here to track their progress.
