This is a 12 week course at Springwood Leisure Centre on a Tuesday, where you will learn drills and fundamental strength work for movement, alongside how to move faster for longer increasing your heart rate and cardiovascular fitness to prepare you to complete a 5k distance.
You do not need to run or jog, walking is also cardio fitness so come along and join in and learn how to go the distance but in a smarter and stronger way with the foundational strength in place.
Be prepared to work hard, learn, have fun and enjoy the journey.
One week you will be outside working out in the fresh air and the following week on the gym floor utilising the treadmills and strength equipment. Each week you will be provided with a homework sheet involving some strength exercises that will take no more than 15 minutes and can be completed at home and some movement work. We are the facilitators but YOU will make this change if you come along and join in.
At the end of the 12 weeks you will all participate together in a 5k event at Moorways stadium
The course is written by a UK Athletics qualified coach.
