Top tips for parents as children return to swimming post-lockdown
Mon 15 Feb 2021
We have some top tips for parents as their children return to swimming lessons following the Coronavirus lockdown.
In addition to the following tips, the recognised national governing body has also produced guidance documents for both swimming lessons and school swimming.
1. Teach the children on how to put on their swimming hats and goggles independently. You can practice this before you return to your swimming lessons.
2. Ask them how they feel about returning and explain to them that things may be different to what they are used to.
3. Let the children know that the lessons they are used to may look slightly different.
4. Children have been out of water for some time now so don't worry if teachers spend a bit more time recapping those fundamental skills they learnt at the beginning of their journey.
