Information relating to Coronavirus
Adult Reading Project
Derby Libraries are pleased to be able to welcome customers back into libraries. Our staff will continue to wear face coverings and we would encourage our customers to do wear face coverings if they are able, to help protect others. Customers will be asked to check in for NHS Test and Trace purposes on arrival, and maintain social distancing.
For up to date information on current services, please visit our COVID-19 Libraries news story.
Would you like some help with your reading and writing?
If you do, we run a group for adults who need basic level help with reading and writing. It’s called the Reading Project.
What support is available?
Help and encouragement with basic reading, writing and conversational skills
A choice of books to borrow that support learning and encourage reading for pleasure
How are the sessions run?
The sessions are run by library staff and volunteers. No assessments are required. The group is friendly and informal and all sessions are drop in.
What do you need to do?
- Just turn up – there's no need to book.
- Bring your library card with you as you will be expected to borrow at least two books each time you attend the group. If you are not already a library member you can join on the day. Please bring with you some identification with your name and address on it.
Please contact the library service on 01332 641701 if you would like more information.
