Adult reading support groups
Would you like some help with your reading and writing?
We run a Reading Group for adults who need basic level help with reading and writing.
When does the group meet?
The group meets every Wednesday at the Central Library between 12.30pm and 2.30pm (term time only).
What support is available?
- Help and encouragement with basic reading and writing skills
- A choice of books for group members to borrow to support learning and to encourage reading for pleasure
How are the sessions run?
The sessions are run by library staff and volunteers. No assessments are required. The group is friendly and informal and all sessions are drop in.
What do you need to do?
- Just turn up – there's no need to book.
- Bring your library card with you as you will be expected to borrow at least two books each time you attend the group.
If you are not already a library member you can join on the day. Please bring with you some identification with your name and address on it.
Please contact Collette Levers on 01332 641722 if you would like more information.
