Support with completing an Expression of Interest

If you are part of a group that is working to prepare an Expression of Interest here are four ways in which we can help you.

1. Meet with members of the Libraries team to learn about the practicalities of day-to-day library operations.  To arrange a meeting please email libraries@derby.gov.uk putting the words “Expression of Interest support request” in the subject line.

2. Seek expert guidance on a range of practical issues not directly related to library services including, for example, governance structures, incorporation, charitable status, setting up appropriate bank accounts, the Crowdfund Derby initiative and other fundraising strategies.  Community Action Derby has kindly offered to provide development support to groups as needed in the process of CML development.  You can email Community Action Derby at enquiries@communityactionderby.org.uk or telephone them on 01332 346266.

The Council will pay invoices from Community Action Derby of up to £250 for costs relating to the provision of this support, on condition that the group receiving the support goes on to submit a full Expression of Interest by the 4 December 2017 deadline.  If a group receives a cost estimate of between £250 and £500 it should contact the Council before proceeding.  The Council will not pay costs in excess of £500. 

3. Tour the library (or libraries) that interest you.  To request to view one of the ten libraries, outside normal opening hours, please download and submit the Viewing Request form.

4. Contact other potential volunteers.  For each library we have the contact details of people who are interested in volunteering and who have given permission for us to share their details with other potential volunteers at that library.  If you like to do this, please email libraries@derby.gov.uk putting the words “Volunteer contact details request” in the subject line.
