Important information about our libraries during COVID-19

New national government restrictions due to COVID-19 mean temporary changes to services at Derby Libraries.

RiversideMickleoverAlvaston and Normanton Libraries are all running a click and collect service for borrowing and returning books and other items. Members can choose and reserve items, and arrange collection, by accessing the online library catalogue

Derby Libraries is committed to digitally supporting and connecting our communities so we are pleased to announce that Alvaston, Mickleover, Normanton and Riverside libraries will be offering public computer access from Thu 26 Nov.

The Home Library Service will continue to operate, delivering and collecting pre-ordered books from Care Homes and vulnerable people living at home.

Derby Local Studies and Family History Library is currently closed to members of the public but will continue to take enquiries by phone, text and email.

We continue to urge library members to make use of our electronic services while they are unable to visit us in person. More information about the services and how to get started can be found on our eLibrary pages.

Library loan extension date

We extended the return dates for all library books borrowed before lockdown in March 2020. These books, and any borrowed before 12 Sep, are now due back before 7 December 2020. Late fees may apply if books are not renewed or returned by this date.
