Derby City Council will operate 5 HUB football sites for the 2023-24 football season: Racecourse Playing Fields (see paragraph below), Alvaston Park, Chaddesden Park, Darley Playing Fields and Sinfin Moor Park. Teams interested in playing at Moorways should contact Everyone Active direct. In addition, AFC Chellaston, through Chellaston Leisure Limited, will operate Chellaston Park and all enquiries to use this HUB site as a home venue should be sent directly to Chellaston Leisure Limited by email: bookings@chellastonleisure.org
The Racecourse
The Council is currently working with the Football Foundation to develop a major Football Hub at the Racecourse Playing Fields which will provide four new 3G pitches and improved facilities, including a refurbished and extended pavilion, café and improved car parking facilities. This twelve million pound investment will deliver one of the best grassroots football facilities in the country. Work is currently underway and the project is due to be completed by January 2024. During the early part of next season this will mean that we are only able to offer a reduced number of 11v11 pitches during the peak Sunday morning period. The remaining 11v11 pitches on the Racecourse will be allocated on a first come first served basis to Junior Teams only on a ‘pitch only’ basis as no changing rooms are available. Outside of the Sunday morning period we should still have enough 11v11 pitch availability on other sites and we will be able to confirm what other options are available once all the slots for the 10.30 am Sunday morning kick off have been filled. We may have to consider giving priority to teams in the city boundary.
For the 2023-24 season Derby City Council will continue to operate the HUB sites listed above and as you work through the application form you will be able to apply for a home venue at one these sites. We will, wherever possible, try to accommodate preferences for a given site but clearly there is only so much capacity and where demand outstrips supply on a given site, alternative sites will be offered where possible, on a first come first served basis. If the overall demand for pitches exceeds supply we may not be able to offer you your first choice of pitch even if you apply before/after the closing date, or may only be able to offer certain kick off times when there may be capacity available.
We will notify the Leagues involved of the kick off times for the 7v7 and 9v9 League matches.

This is necessary to:
- To reduce our reliance on additional parking elsewhere which is not always available.
- To reduce our reliance on grass parking which is not always suitable due to ground conditions.
- To comply with our Health and Safety Risk Assessment process for managing parking.
- To ensure emergency access if required.
- To ensure all our customers have a more enjoyable experience when visiting the parks concerned.
