‘Grazing Comes to Town’ is back

Allestree cows grazing

Mon 23 Oct 2017

After last year’s successful conservation grazing, our partnership project with Derbyshire Wildlife Trust is back again.

Cattle and sheep will be grazing fields at Allestree Park and Darley and Nutwood Local Nature Reserves between October and December carrying out vital munching to ensure our most delicate wildflowers have a chance to shine. Look out for the five different species of orchid flowering next June.

Thank you to all of the volunteer checkers who have been able to make this project so successful! If you would like to be a volunteer stock checker (no experience necessary), please contact Derby Parks on 01332640789 or e-mail parks@derby.gov.uk
