Riverside Library opening

Riverside Library has reopened, but with reduced hours. The restricted hours are a result of it taking more staff time to manage the library space, and handle the stock appropriately, both of  which help to ensure a safer environment for customers. It was our intention to try to open Riverside Library on Saturdays, and we trialled this on Saturday 5 Sep.

After the trial we have decided that Riverside Library will remain closed on Saturdays for the time being. There is an opportunity to use the staff time to improve customer access to Normanton and Alvaston, which are currently only open as Click & Collect sites ( no customer access to the library ). We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience.

Derby Arena infield maintenance update

Derby Arena infield activities

Currently there are no infield activities taking place at Derby Arena, as we have utilised the closure and part opening due to Covid 19 pandemic to re-prioritise plans to upgrade the infield floor. Works are well under way and we anticipated for the upgrade to be completed end of October.

The venue will continue to be guided by the government and national governing bodies for sport in its decision making process for activities and sport to return to the venue.

Indoor sports courts for badminton are available at Springwood Leisure Centre.
