Building alterations at Riverside Chambers are in progress. These works include changes to part of Derby Local Studies and Family History Library’s storage areas and will impact access to some library materials and to customer donations until 31 August 2026. The library will close at 1pm on Thu 30 Jul for essential roof repairs, and reopen later this year.

Improvements include a new children’s area, upgraded computers, fresh interior paint, and opening on Saturday mornings.

Due to ongoing problems caused by the age of the structure, Markeaton Park Paddling Pool is closed for repairs.

Emergency repair works have been arranged and Council teams are doing everything they can with the aim of safely reopening the facility for the school summer holidays.

The Water Play area at Chaddesden Park is open from midday until 5pm at weekends and during the school holidays (weather permitting) until early September.
