The Derby Parks Volunteers (DPV) alongside Friends of Littleover Parks (FOLP) have had a busy summer constructing a pond dipping platform, bird screen and accessible footpath connection to the new large wildlife pond.

Volunteers from both groups, in partnership with the Derby Parks Team, designed and built from scratch everything you see in the pictures.

This project marks the final spend of the Heatherton S106 Development Fund for the area which also included the Oaklands Avenue footpath/cycleway link, Sunnydale Park Play Area and footpath improvements, tree planting at Clemson’s Park and many nature conservation improvements.

DPV continue their regular Tuesday and Wednesday tasks this winter which will include hedge laying, pond work and woodland management. New members are always welcome and full training is given. Find out more http://www.derbyparksvolunteers.co.uk/activities.html
