Thu 6 Feb 2020

Dan Partington, Cycle Technician, has been working at Derby Arena since it opened in 2015. He has been working in the cycle industry for the last 25 years and is a Qualified Cytech Level 3 professional cycle mechanic.

Working closely with the cycling team, he maintains and fixes the Arena’s fleet of 100 hire bikes, tandems, Balance bikes and Derny motorbikes and is always on hand to help out with any problems the customers have with their own bikes. He is based in the fully equipped workshop at Derby Arena.

Dan has a great passion for cycling and recently passed his British Cycling Ride leader qualification which will enable him to take family group/social rides out from Arena in the warmer months with Head Coach Phil Kilpatrick. Since working at Derby Arena, Dan has passed his Track Accreditation and regularly rides SQT’s (Structured Quality Training) sessions and races in the Derby Arena Track league.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys taking his two young son’s out for bike rides down local tracks and trails where he lives (one has even had a go at riding on the track!). Looking forward, Dan is interesting at looking into taking some coaching qualification’s to expand his cycling skills and knowledge further.
