About the event

Come and join us for a fabulous celebration of the diverse communities in Derby through music and dance for Derby Peace Week.

Doors open at 5pm for dining Al Fresco before the event. There will be live music from Mohammedreza playing sublime music on the santoor from 6.30. The main programme will start at 7.30pm in the spacious marquee.

Beatwirks starts us off with a bang with their samba reggae band, where it's impossible not to dance. Dj Su-Ki will follow with her first DJ set of the night, which will take us around the world with Latin American, African, Middle Eastern rhythms with some Bhangra and Bollywood in the mix too!

Njega and Seckou will be teaching African rhythms on djembes, and some pulsating dance steps for you to learn. There’s no time for sitting down as the DJ set continues with volunteers from Derbyshire Refugee Solidarity teaching some steps from their countries of origin.

This is what we’ve all been missing, so come and join the party atmosphere. It's FREE entry, but you need to book a ticket in advance as there will be limited capacity, so we can enjoy ourselves safely. If you book a ticket and then are unable to come please pass it on to a friend or inform the box office.

DONATIONS are welcome on the night for DERBY PEACE WEEK and DERBYSHIRE REFUGEE SOLIDARITY (which supports refugees and asylum seekers living in Derby and further afield)
