About the Event
As part of the 160th anniversary celebrations of Derby Market Hall, we are delighted to host a SEND-friendly Market Day — a welcoming, inclusive drop-in event for families during the May half term.
This special event is designed to bring together services from across Derby to support children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), alongside their families and carers.
Visitors can explore a marketplace-style walkthrough, where parents and carers will have the opportunity to connect with local services, access advice, and discover the wide range of support available across the city.
Alongside this, there will be a variety of accessible activities and games for children and young people to enjoy in a relaxed and supportive environment. A dedicated sensory breakout space will also be available for those who may need a quieter area during their visit.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase from Market Hall traders, and the flexible drop-in format means families can attend at a time that suits them best. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy our Market Hall experience, shopping around our retailers & bringing the family along for the experience.
We are inviting local services and organisations to take part in this event by:
- Providing information, advice, and guidance to families
- Showcasing SEND support available across Derby
- Delivering inclusive, accessible activities where appropriate
- Helping create a friendly, supportive environment for families to connect with services
Join us for a meaningful day of connection, support, and celebration at the heart of Derby’s historic Market Hall.
