e-book

We offer an eLibrary service to all members of Derby Libraries.

You will need your Library member number and pin to access the services below.

eBooks and eAudiobooks

You can browse and select eBooks and eAudiobooks from the BorrowBox website or mobile app.

  • eBooks - digital books that you can view on your computer or mobile reading device.
  • eAudiobooks - spoken word recordings that can be played on your computer or mobile device

You can also access eBooks and eAudiobooks from our library catalogue

Before you download an eBook from our catalogue we recommend that you download and install the BorrowBox app.

We recommended you visit the BorrowBox help page which offers guidance on getting started, what devices and apps are compatible and general information on eBooks and Audiobooks.

eMagazines

You can download latest editions of your favourite magazines on a computer or a mobile device on the LibbyApp.com website or to your mobile device using the Libby App.

You will need to log in with your library card number and PIN to access these titles. On the dropdown menu choose "Derby City Council" when you are logging in for the first time.

How many magazines will I be able to borrow?

You'll have access to over 3,000 digital magazines. There are no magazine checkout limits, so you'll be able to borrow as many as you like.

You can also view magazines on the Overdrive website, which has the same titles as Libby but offers slightly different features.

How long can I keep magazines borrowed?

You can keep magazines for up to 3 weeks, but you can renew them if you need more time.

Odilo app for free content including Ukrainian titles

In order to provide Ukrainians with a range of free reading, listening, learning and entertainment opportunities, multi-media content provider Odilo launched a free app for both Android and iOS.

Available across Europe, the app includes 3000 e-books and audiobooks in a variety of genres, including 1,700 Ukrainian titles and 500 in English. There is material for both children and adults.
