About the Event

This illustrated talk discusses the idea of time, how it was created and how much we rely upon it.

We look at the way in which time is defined and how these ideas originated. Related to this is the calendar, widely used throughout the world, but not by every nation or religion, including a variety of views of when exactly the world began. Modern communications technology like radio, cable, space satellite systems have made the world seem a smaller place, while very fast means of transport, such as supersonic aircraft, have similarly made the planet much more accessible to travellers today, even in our own lifetime.
