Update

The Guinness World Record for 'Most people crocheting simultaneously' was smashed by volunteers at Derby Arena on Fri 24 Feb. The record was achieved to mark the end of BBC Radio Derby's Make a Blanket appeal. Congratulations to all the participants.

To celebrate the success of the BBC Radio Derby Make a Blanket, Make a Difference we invite you to take part in an official Guinness World Records title attempt for 'Most people crocheting simultaneously'. 

Fri 24 Feb, 3pm – 5pm, at Derby Arena

If you would like to get involved in this exciting opportunity to be an Guinness World Records title holder and can crochet please come down and bring your crocheting friends with you! All ages can participate just must be able to crochet to a beginner standard.

All you need to do is remember your crochet hooks and wool and arrive at Derby Arena between 3-4pm for registration with the attempt starting promptly at 4.15pm.

Andy Twigge of BBC Radio Derby will be live from the venue broadcasting the incredible effort and an Guinness World Records official will adjudicate the record and present the certificate if we are successful!

We need over 605 people to beat the world record so please support and bring all your crocheting friends and family!

BBC Radio Derby have been overwhelmed by the incredible support the Make a Difference, Make a Blanket campaign has received with over 1,800 blankets donated so far. Please come and celebrate the success by joining us in this crochet Guinness World Records title attempt.
