September fitness tips

Wed 2 Sep 2020

September is here! Gyms will start to see more people wanting to keep fit again. The change of season will also spark a renewed time to rethink and create healthy new habits.

By the first week of September, people will be coming back from their hoidays and trying to get back into routines. Balance your hibernation season with small lifestyle changes.

Here are some tips to help you kick-start your September fitness routine:

  1. Water, water, water! Try and increase your water intake. Try and improve your diet too, by incorporating more fresh foods, leaner options and good sources of protein, fats and carbohydrates. Taking this route will give you more vitality, improve your digestive system, help rid the body of toxins, make exercise easier and give you better results! Keep your kitchen well stocked with unprocessed, whole foods that are quick and easy to munch on. Cut-up veggies, lean meats, olive oil, coconut oil and nuts are all great options.

  2. We're here to help: If you're unsure about how to get started in the gym or with simple fitness routines at home, simply ask us. That's what we're here for! Ask for professional help with your training regime and nutrition.

  3. Be real: Set realistic goals and make sure they fit around your daily routines so that you won't feel like it's a chore to keep up with them, whether it's work, picking the kids up from school or cooking dinner for the family. The more natural it feels, the easier the routine will be to keep up with.

  4. Grab your gym buddy: Partner up with a friend so going to the gym feels less daunting. It will also be helpful to have your motivation partner on hand to help when you're feeling a little less driven.

  5. Zzzz: Lack of sleep is strongly linked to weight gain, low energy and fatigue. Without adequate sleep, you’ll have a harder time sticking to your diet and your exercise plan.
