Access

Markeaton Park

We strive to make our parks as accessible to as many people as possible.

Many of our parks have disabled access with level paths that are suitable for wheelchair users, some have disabled parking and toilets. For accessibility information about each park visit individual parks pages in the Parks and open spaces section

If you need more information or have any feedback or suggestions about how we can improve access, we'd be keen to hear from you. Please contact us using our contact form, or by calling us on 01332 640789.

Some of our parks now include inclusive play areas. The play areas can be found at Arboretum Park, Brunswood Park, Bramble Brook Recreation Ground and Alvaston Park

At Arboretum Park facilites include wheelchair-accessible seesaw and roundabout, musical and sensory play equipment, a sensory footpath, and even a stage area for budding performers.

Alvaston Park’s play area includes space-themed multi-play units, swings, an inclusive seesaw, and wheelchair-accessible roundabout.

In Spondon, there is an accessible and inclusive play area at Brunswood Park. The thoughtfully-designed space features a toddler and a junior multi-play unit, swings, an inclusive roundabout, and play panels.
