Park walks and gardens
Markeaton Park has a number of surfaced paths taking you to the main areas, with plenty of seating available to take in the views and relax in the open air.
Why not venture off the beaten track and explore the park with our Parkland and Woodland Walk; enjoy a walk through the woods with our Yew Walk or wander alongside the lake and have a picnic on our Lakeside Walk? Take a look at our handy map for details of each walk.
You can find more park walks on our Things to do on our parks page.
For quiet and relaxation visit one of the many gardens in the park, from the intimate Rose Garden to a gentle stroll around the 18th Century and 19th century Pleasure Gardens with many fine specimen trees.
Have a look at the Walled Garden, once part of the original kitchen gardens for the Hall.
