Alvaston Park Summer Fun

Join Alvaston Park Friends and Derby Parks for a programme of summer fun activities across the school holidays.

There are lots to do in your own group or on one of the Saturday fun days.

Saturday afternoon fun

• Sat 7 Aug 2021 – 12- 4pm Join Alvaston Park Friends, Alvaston Park Pirates Model Boat Club, Police and a few others in an afternoon of crafts, displays and other activities.
• Sat 14 Aug 2021 – 12-4pm – Active Dads are hosting a dog show for all. Join your pet and have your portrait taken with Ian Richardson (charges apply).
• NEW DATE Sat 30 Aug 2021 (Changed from Sat 21 Aug)– 12pm to 4pm - Hosted by Alvaston Park Friends, why not join in by bringing your favourite teddy bear, your own picnic or purchase from the waterside café and enjoy a Teddy Bear’s Picnic on the Park.

Running throughout the summer, are a number of trails for all to enjoy celebrating the wonders of nature all-around use at Alvaston Park.

• Alvaston Park is teaming with wildlife that live in the lake, along the riverside, in and around the trees and within and on the long and shorter grasslands. Discover more by taking part in the Alvaston Park Wildlife Trail, by downloading the map to print out or using your phone. 
• Take a journey around the inner solar system as part of the Alvaston Park Star Trail and discover more about the wonders of the universe and the other planets within the solar system, by downloading the map to print out or using your phone.
• The Love Exploring app will imaginatively bring parks across Derby to life; you may meet a virtual dinosaur or two on your travels around the park?
