It’s that time of year again, the holiday preparation has begun and you’re getting ready to reach your summer fitness goals. We're bringing you our top 10 tips to help you reach your summer fitness goals:
Join the gym

Go for a swim
Get active in the pool at Queen’s Leisure Centre this summer, and get closer to reaching your fitness goals one stroke at a time. Swim with the whole family at Derby Active’s family swim sessions, take on the whole family with the Atlantis Splash Run or have a play about in the Family Splash session.
Get into golf
Want to try a new way to keep active this summer? Now’s the perfect time to get into golf at Allestree Park Golf Course where we’re offering a game for just £5. From 1 June to 31 August you can get into golf with this fantastic offer.

If you’re looking to get back into sports but need to take it easy then why not give walking sports a go? Play walking netball at either Derby Arena or Springwood Leisure Centre, and walking football at Springwood Leisure Centre.

Go for a run in the park
Summer weather calls for getting out in the park, and the park is the perfect place to get fit and go for a run. Take part in the weekly Parkrun at Markeaton Park, run your own route or even sign up for Race for Life or Pretty Muddy and get training for these worthwhile events. Test your mind and your body and take on the new orienteering course at Markeaton Park, that combines navigation with running
Join a club
For anyone who likes to socialise while they get fit, there’s plenty of clubs on offer at Derby Active facilities. From athletics at Moorways Stadium, to swimming at Queen’s Leisure Centre, you’re bound to find your fitness fun at one of our centres.
