Capability Garden launches at Markeaton Park

People gardening in the Markeaton rose garden

Wed 2 May 2018

On Friday 20 April we launched our Capability Garden in Markeaton Park. This is a dementia friendly garden, created by and for people living with dementia, their families and carers.

We were so excited to invite people of all ages to celebrate this new gardening space and love having the community involved in this new space!

In conjunction with Derby Parks, Making Space are developing a Dementia Garden for families in the Derby area affected by Dementia. Fresh air and physical activity are an excellent way of maintaining health, so what better way than doing some gardening?

You can watch your hard work come to fruition when the plants and flowers bloom!

Why not join the gardening group? Every first and third Friday of the month 10am – 12pm at Markeaton Rose Garden
