It’s almost time for The Darley Park Weekender! The three-day musical extravaganza has something for everyone this year.

Grab your friends and family for the best weekend of summer. If you’re still not sure what to expect then look no further.

The weekend kicks off on Fri 29 Aug with 80s Mix Tape. The nostalgic journey through the era of leggings and iconic pop music will feature an all-star cast of performers. Legendary duo Bananarama, known for chart-topping hits like Venus and Cruel Summer, will headline the show. They will be joined by The Fizz, featuring members of the original Eurovision-winning group Bucks Fizz, and Haircut 100, the trio behind instant classics such as Fantastic Day. Guiding the night's musical journey will be BBC Radio 2's very own Gary Davies, who is a recognised authority on 80s music!

Local Derby band Cassette Roulette will also take to the stage, playing a dynamic mix of old favourites and modern classics to keep the energy high and the dance floor packed all evening. Radio Derby breakfast presenter DJ Becky Measures will be on site to host Friday’s event.

She will be joined by the 90s ‘bad boys’ of pop, East 17, famous for their worldwide hit Stay Another Day, and the reunited trio 911, who will perform their best-known singles including the UK number one A Little Bit More. Completing the lineup is influential R&B boy band Damage, celebrated for hits like Ghetto Romance and Forever.

Cassette Roulette will once again be putting on a fab show for the crowds. BBC Radio Derby’s Ian Skye will host Saturday's event.

All of this, set against the beautiful surroundings of Darley Park, makes it the perfect event for family and friends to enjoy together.

The Darley Park Weekender is staged by Derby LIVE, Derby City Council’s arts and events team, with support from Bloc DigitalCirculayoHUUBSami Tipi,  and Ward Recycling.  Radio Derby’s presenters Ian Skye and Emma Caldwell will be hosting.
