Mini Golf is getting a mighty makeover at Markeaton Park
Thu 21 Mar 2019
Those who have visited Markeaton Park recently will have seen change is afoot. The course has been removed and is being replaced with a brand new Mini Golf course.
The park, which has been popular with adults and children alike for decades, will see its newest attraction opening this Spring. Work to remove the old course started in February and the construction of the new course is underway and on track.
The new course can be played as two separate 9 hole courses or one 18 hole course.
With the usual challenging features such as ramps, bends, slopes and bumps, the course has been designed to be fun for all the family – especially those who like a little healthy competition!
Councillor Alan Grimadell, Councillor for Leisure, Culture and Tourism welcomes the new course:
“In recent years a lot has been invested into Markeaton Park and this is another great addition. This investment of £125,000 into the development of the mini golf course turns the former crazy golf into a fantastic 18 hole mini golf course, which has been developed to allow more people to enjoy it.
“Markeaton Park is Derby’s most visited park and it is no surprise with the Skyline course, pitch & putt, play area and craft village, to name just a few attractions.”
The course, which has been designed by Hertfordshire based UrbanCrazy, who sponsor the Great Britain Mini Golf Team and will be bringing them along for its grand opening where visitors can learn from the pros!
