The Great British Spring Clean 2025 is full swing with new bins arriving at Derby Parks!
Fri 21 Mar 2025
Parks are doing their bit as part of the Great British Spring Clean, with new bins helping improve Derby Parks for all.
The bins arrived in time for the annual clean-up campaign the Great British Spring Clean which runs from Fri 21 March to Sun 6 April.
Derby's parks bins were upgraded with 150 new, high-capacity bins installed to improve cleanliness. These bins will help keep parks cleaner and more enjoyable for everyone.
As part of this upgrade, Derby Parks are also conducting a thorough review of bin locations using insights from community groups, colleagues and data using bin sensor technology.
While some parks might have fewer bins, the larger size means better waste management and help make a real difference to keeping our parks clean.
The replacement programme will include several parks including:
- Normanton Park
- Stockbrook Park
- Arboretum Park
- Rykneld Rec
- Allestree Park
- Osmaston Park
- Alvaston Park
The Great British Spring Clean led by Keep Britian Tidy encourages everyone to pledge to pick up a bag of litter, or more.
We need your help to keep our parks beautiful! Please join us in using the new bins and spread the word about this improvement. Together, we can keep our parks clean and welcoming.
