The festive season is over, and January blues are kicking in. Don’t worry, we have plenty of events and activities to keep those January blues at bay, and start this New Year off right!

Make the most of the winter nights with Stargazing at Alvaston Park. On Saturday 2 February join in the evening’s fun by exploring the night’s skies through one of the Derby & District Astronomy Societies’ telescopes, take part in starry craft activities, storytelling and much more. Bring the family along to this free and fun event from 5 to 9pm!

On Thursday 7 February Professor Brian Cox will be offering a fascinating insight into the workings of nature at the most fundamental level as he opens his Universal World Tour 2019 at Derby Arena. He will take you to the edge of our current understanding about the origin and evolution of our Solar System and the Universe. February’s show is sold out, although tickets are available for Professor Brian Cox’s second date in Derby on Tuesday 10 September.

Be part of a stunning celebration of the music and life of one of the greatest singers of our time with Whitney – Queen of the Night at Derby Arena on Friday 8 February. This award-winning production features a sensational line-up of musicians and artistes, and together with a powerhouse and breath-taking performance in the spirit of Whitney, they deliver a show that exceeds expectation on every level.
