Chapel Street Arts Centre Open Day

About the Event

Join us for dance, creativity and discovery for all ages at Chapel Street Arts Centre.

This free event invites people of all ages and abilities to explore the building, take part in short, drop-in workshop-style sessions, and enjoy a day of creativity and performance. Across the day, artists and instructors will lead tasters and workshops, giving you the chance to watch, join in and have a go.

The programme will feature a range of dance classes for children and adults, including jazz, ballet, street dance and flamenco. There will also be short workshops in the auditorium.

The café and bar will be open, where you can also meet some of the local businesses and organisations who use Chapel Street Arts Centre for meetings and events, and browse pop-up information stalls running throughout the day.

Whether you’re looking to try something new, find a class, or simply explore the building, this is an open invitation to drop in, get involved and discover what’s on offer.

Studio 1

10am - 10:30am: Break Dance for all ages and levels

10:45am - 11:15am: Musical Theatre Jazz for children

11:30am - 12noon: Commercial Dance for all levels and 12yrs+

12:15pm - 12:45pm: Bob Fosse - Jazz Dance Workshop (Derby College Performing Arts for 16 - 19yrs, no previous experience needed)

1pm - 1:30pm: Aerial Arts Taster Session for 7yrs - 15yrs 

1:30pm - 2pm: Aerial Arts Taster Session for 7yrs -15yrs 

Studio 2

10am - 10:30am: Contemporary Youth Dance for 11yrs - 18yrs

10:45am - 11:15am: Adult Contemporary Dance

11:30am - 12noon: Young Adult Dance workshop

12:15pm - 12:45pm: Yoga Barre, 14yrs+

1pm - 1:30pm: Musical Theatre Dance 14yrs+

1:30pm - 2pm: Hubbub Theatre SEND Dance and Movement Taster Workshops 16+ (Please complete form for this to attend:
