About the event: Explore Derby’s newest library and all it has to offer. Come along to a taster session or hear from a local author, we can’t wait to meet you!

Taster sessions at Riverside Library:

Monday 2 July

Rhymetime, 10.30am – 11am

Introduction to eBooks and eAudiobooks, bring your device and drop in between 10am – 4pm

Saturday 7 July

Rhymetime, for parents, carers and their babies, 10am – 10.30am

Code Club Taster Session, for children looking to learn about computer coding, 10am – 11am and 11.30am – 12.30pm

Andy Cope, author of Spy Dog and The Art of Being Brilliant, 11am – 12pm

Thursday 12 July

Poetry night – 6pm – 7.30pm

Headlining will be the fantastic former Derbyshire Poet Laureate, Cathy Grindrod
A diverse range of Derby-based poets will showcase their work.
Poets include:
Bea Udeh, from Wild Thyme Writers
Dan Webber, from Furthest from the Sea Music, Comedy & Arts
Emerciana de Souza, from She Speaks
Jamie Thrasavoulou, author of The Best of a Bad Situation
Sophie Sparham, author of Please Mind the Gap
Trevor Wright, author of Outsider Heart
There will also be the chance to bring a poem of your own and sign up for an open mic slot. Doors open at 5.30 and the event is free.
