About the event
We are creating a scrapbook to chart the incredible journey and celebrate the amazing achievement of Derby woman Preet Chandi who has successfully completed her solo mission to cross Antarctica.
We are creating a scrapbook to chart the incredible journey and celebrate the amazing achievement of Derby woman Preet Chandi who has successfully completed her solo mission to cross Antarctica.
During this session children and young people will work with artists from Derby-based organisation Artcore to fill the scrapbook with information, ideas, responses, reflections, maps, pop-up creations and lots more! There will also be the opportunity to view copies of a unique object held in our Local Studies and Family History Library, which is a scrapbook detailing Robert Scott’s attempt to cross Antarctica in 1910.
Once complete our scrapbook will then have a permanent home in our Local Studies and Family History Library so it will be available for our Derby communities and for future generations.
This event will be for children aged between 6 – 13 and there are 10 places available. To book your place email us on Normanton.library@derby.gov.uk or give us a call on 01332 642640
