About the Event
Explore the heritage of the Derwent Valley Mills and the threats facing sites around the world.
The Derwent Valley from Derby northwards is well-known to us as a World Heritage site. But what makes something or someplace worth being considered for World Heritage status?
In this talk we briefly examine the meaning of heritage. Vital to this was the creation of the United Nations organisation. This was adopted by the General Conference of UNESCO. We'll also examine some of the features of the Derwent Valley Mills WH Site and finally consider some of the dangers affecting WH sites on a global scale.
Booking essential. Pop into Mickleover Library and talk to the team or phone 01332 647884 to book.
