Come and join us for a FREE evening of poetry to celebrate National Poetry Day
Headlining will be the fantastic Nafeesa Hamid, a finalist in the BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam 2018.
Nafeesa is a British Pakistani poet/ playwright now based in Birmingham. She is published in ‘The Things I Would Tell You: British Muslim Women Write’, a recent (2017) anthology, edited by Sabrina Mahfouz. She is alumni of Mouthy Poets and Derby Theatre Graduate Associate Artists and set up the monthly Derby open mic night, Twisted Tongues. Her debut poetry collection 'Besharam' has been published with VERVE Poetry Press (2018). Nafeesa was a finalist in the BBC Edinburgh Fringe Slam 2018.
Also joining Nafeesa will be a range of poets showcasing their work to celebrate National Poetry Day.
