Further improvement work to take place at Pear Tree Library

Library books on a shelf

Wed 11 Apr 2018

Derby City Council is taking the opportunity to undertake additional improvement works at Pear Tree Library during its scheduled temporary closure in April, as it prepares to make room for additional books arriving from Central Library.

Pear Tree Library will close temporarily on 12 April and is anticipated to reopen by late June, in order for the additional work to take place.

Derby City Council is committed to delivering a comprehensive and efficient library service and is taking the opportunity to carry out this work to avoid future disruption.

Additional books are being transferred to Pear Tree Library in preparation for Central Library’s relocation to the new Riverside Library at the Council House. Derby Libraries offer a valuable service for the local community and this ambitious move aims to make Derby an even greater place to live.

Customers can access and reserve books at other local libraries during the closure and ebooks will continue to be available 24/7.
